Start of construction of the castle is in the summer 1868. Under the plan, the construction was to be completed in 3 years, but it lasted for 15 years and ended only in 1883.   The castle was built by King Ludwig II, who was also called "fairy-tale king" because they erected castles (Neuschwanstein, Herrenchiemsee, Linderhof).   Shortly before the end of World War II in Neuschwanstein stored gold Reich.  The entire architecture of the castle permeates swan motif.
