Mary: Hi Jeanne! Yes, I hear you quite well. How are you?

Jeanne: I’m fine, thank you! And how are you?

 Mary: I’m also well, thanks! How’s the weather in Ottawa today?

Jeanne: It’s a fine weather, but it’s a bit rainy. How about London? Is the
weather good there?

 Mary: You know, as usual. It’s quite foggy and chilly. I wish it was summer.

Jeanne: Yes, I remember. Summer in London is gorgeous. Of course, it rains
sometimes, but I still like the temperature. It’s fine and I feel comfortable.

Mary: How is summer in Ottawa? I think it should be nice.Мария:
Jeanne: Well, it is nice, of course. It can also rain sometimes or be cloudy, but in general it’s warm and sunny.

Mary: I’d like to visit you this summer, perhaps in the middle of July. Will it convenient? It’s the end of March now. I think by summer I’ll pass all my exams so I’ll have a lot of free time.

Jeanne: Of course, it would be great! Come to Ottawa. I’m sure, you’ll love the city.

 Mary: That’s wonderful. Ok, then, I’ll start looking for cheap tickets online
Jeanne: Is Marcos coming with you?

Mary: No, he’ll be visiting his relatives in Barcelona this summer. He is here, by the way. Do you want to talk to him?
Jeanne: Sure, I haven’t heard from him for quite a while.Жанна: Конечно, я уже давно его не слышала.  Marcos: Hi Jeanne! How’s life? 

Jeanne: Hi there, Marcos! All is well, thank you! How about you? Are you enjoying life in London?

Marcos: I’m also well, thank you! I like it here, though it gets chilly and humid sometimes. You know, I’m a Spanish guy. I like the sun and heat.
 Jeanne: Oh, I see. That’s why you’re planning to go to Barcelona this summer.

Marcos: Yes, that’s the reason. I hope to swim a lot in the warm Mediterranean Sea and to rest under the Spanish sun and palm trees. I can’t wait to get there.

Jeanne: Sounds tempting. I’m a bit jealous, though Canadian climate is also
quite good. It’s mild and continental. We have warm summers and cold winters here in Ottawa.

Marcos: I know, I’d like to come sometimes and visit you there, maybe even in winter, to experience real snowfalls. However, at the moment I miss hot summers of my homeland.

Jeanne: I understand. Mary doesn’t seem to like the heat, though. She is planning to come to Canada in summer.

Marcos: Yes, she is a real English person. She enjoys endless mists and humidity. I guess, she is just used to it. Anyway, I hope to get her visit
Barcelona sometimes. She just doesn’t know what she’s missing.

 Mary: Don’t be silly, Marcos. I’m not going to this hell-fire. You know I can’t stand the heat at all.

 Jeanne: It’s worth trying, Marcos. Though, as far as I know Mary, she is not the kind of a person who loves the heat.

 Marcos: You’re right, Jeanne. That’s exactly what she’s just said to me. You know your friend better than me. I will definitely miss her in Barcelona. But that’s her choice. If I feel too lonely, then I’ll buy the tickets to Ottawa, I guess.  

Jeanne: Yes, that’s fine. I have enough space for both of you. So if you make up your mind, come also to Ottawa. I’m sure you’ll like the weather here because it isn’t as humid as in London and rains are also rare. And, most importantly, there is no smog here.
