Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world, located in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. It's separated from Africa by the Mozambique Channel. The climate there is tropical. The extreme south of the island is often referred to as subtropical. Though Madagascar is close to Africa, the flora and fauna of the island are unique - they contain 5% of the species of plants and animals of the world, 80% of which exist only in Madagascar. The most famous of the animals are the lemurs. Most of the species on the island are endemics. Because of this, Madagascar is often called а "small continent". Familiarity with Madagascar should start with the island's capital Antananarivo. You can start exploring Madagascar with nature reserves. For example, such reserves as Brent Reserve, Reserve of Mount Ombre and many others. Also, on the island, there are many parks and beautiful forests. So, I think your trip there won't be boring.
