Mike took up the receiver and answered the telephone. (He greeted.)
A woman`s voice (also greeted him and) asked whether it was Mike.
Mike answered that it was he.
The woman`s voice said that was Lucy and she should have a party at her house the next evening, and if Mike and Mary could come, and the party started at eight o`clock.
Mike thanked Lucy. He promised to come and said they were (would be) free the next evening.
Lucy said she should borrow Tom`s records, and if it was fine they would sit outside and play the records, and if it was wet they would sit inside.
Mike liked that and he offered he would bring some records too if Lucy liked. And he asked who else would be at her party.
Lucy answered that Alice and Tom would come, but Ted wouldn`t be able to come because he would go to the country the following day on business.
Mike asked whether Bob would be there.
Lucy answered she didn`t know. And she had to telephone him but she didn`t know his number.
Mike said he would see Bob that evening, he would be at the University and Bob would be there too, and he would ask Bob if Lucy liked, and he would phone her the following morning.
Lucy thanked Mike.
Mike said that was all right, and he would phone her in the morning and see her the next evening, and said good-bye.
Lucy thanked Mike and said good-bye.
