There are some advantages and disadvantages of celebrating birthdays.
Every year I get useful presents. But very often there are also some useless ones. In my childhood my relatives organised merry parties, wore fancy dresses, invited a lot of my friends. Now they are very busy and try to meet only few of them, and they should be close friends.
The third thing is that we meet only in the family circle now, but some years ago we met in the open air.
When I was in the elementary school my parents always prepared tea parties for my classmates, but now they give me money to buy sweets or chocolates for them. 
On my birthday I'd like to watch comedy films with my friends, but it is impossible now because there are too many films about wars, fights and horrors.
