A farmer had a garden. An old apple-tree grew in it. It was fruitless, and it only gave shelter to grasshoppers and sparrows that were singing and chirping in its branches. The farmer got tired of the fruitless apple tree, and he decided to cut it down.  He even brought his axe.The grasshoppers and sparrows came to ask him:— Don't cut our apple-tree, please!  Or we'll fly away to another tree and you won't hear our cheerful songs while working in the garden.The farmer wouldn't listen to them. He put the axe up and suddenly saw that the apple-tree was hollow, and there was a swarm of bees in the hole and the hole was full of honey.The Farmer threw the axe down and said:
And an old apple tree can be useful one day.
