Serna - slender animal with a long neck and a thin truncated torso; adult body weight of 30-50 kg,
 The head of the small sizes and strongly tapering to an end. Small horns placed vertically, the top of their bent back and down. The hooves are large, relatively narrow, well able to move apart. In the summer the fur color of the total trunk and neck rust-red, sometimes reddish-haired; from occiput to root of the tail along the spine stretches a narrow strip of black and brown. In the summer eats mainly grass. In winter, the feed composition comprises branches of bushes and dry grass. Hold chamois mixed herds or small groups - of 3-7 individuals.
Chamois live in the rocky areas of Masty, Maikop, Absheron district in mountainous areas in the open mountain pastures with hard to reach the cliffs, talus and steep slopes. In winter, keep the belt in dark coniferous forests on steep slopes with rocky outcrops and talus.
