Why it`s important to have friends? Do you think it`s better to have 1 best friend or lots of good friends?

A person always needs support from other people. Usually these people are his family and friends. Friends play a very important role in our life. They provide support in difficult situations,help us with valuable advice. Friends cheer us up when we are sad and laugh along with us when we are happy. Without friends a person can feel lost and depressed because he has no one to talk to.
I personally think it is better to have one best friend than lots of good friends. This is because if you are in trouble the good friends might leave you.There are many of them, but they aren't as close to you as a best friend can be. A very close friend on the other hand will help you no matter what.
