Нужно переделать вопрос из прямой речи в косвенную.
"Should I take these pills?"
Мой вариант
I asked the doctor if i should took those pills.
Где я ошибся?

ну как минимум после should ставится take а не took.
I asked the doctor if I should take those pills!

Answer 2

I asked the doctor if I had to take those pills.
