Romeo and Juliet
On Friday the works of William Shakespeare were once again given the 21st Century treatment by the team at Finding the Will.
Using contemporary music by the likes of Queen and The Bee Gees, the tale of Romeo and Juliet was brought right up to date by the children in Year 3 and 4.
Having only been introduced to the play on Monday morning the performance on Friday was nothing short of remarkable. The children took to the stage with such confidence and clarity and it was an afternoon that will live long in the memory.
We are fortunate to have worked with Richard and Jules for a number of years and the way they make complicated texts so accessible to the children never fails to impress.
A combination of the modern music, original text and some modern interpretation brought a fresh humour to the production.
We are thankful to all the children in Battersea, Victoria, Alexandra and Mapesbury, the staff involved in supporting the children and the team at Finding the Will for their continued energy and enthusiasm.
We can’t wait to see what happens in 2019 on the stage in our annual celebration of William Shakespeare.
