At school we learn Russian as our native language. Also we are able to choose between English and German to learn as foreign languages. I have chosen to learn English.
Besides, I would like to learn Spanish, because my family and I often travel to Spain for holidays, and I would like to be able to speak their language.
As for your choice, I think it is very interesting, Japanese culture is very widespread nowadays, and probably some day I would lean it too.
