Following in parents` footsteps while choosing a career is rather difficult and controversial question. The choice of the future profession is a very important process. Firstly, your parents will proud of you and you may achieve a big success running a family business. Secondly, parents always share their experience with children, help them or give some advice. Thirdly, the same career may improve family relationship. On the other hand, teens can feel pressure and discomfort. They can fail to live up to the parents` expectations. So, I think if a person chooses the career he is interested in, he will be successful and it doesn`t matter whether he follows in his parents` footsteps or not.
