18) A few days ago Keith Dunn`s motorbike was stolen by somebody. His motorbike had been left outside his house. The theft was reported by Keith to the police. He was told the police would try to find his motorbike. This morning, Keith was called and asked to go to the police station. His motorbike had been found. It had been painted by the thieves and then had been sold to someone else. The motorbike had been parked by the new owner outside the police station. The thieves were arrested by the police.
19) Yesterday afternoon an entire village was destroyed by a volcanic eruption. Mount Sirius, which was thought dormant by experts, erupted at 3 p.m. Smoke rising from the mouth of the volcano had been seen by tourists two days before. The villagers were moved away from the area by the police for their own safety. Tons of lava and rock came out of the volcano and houses, roads and trees were wrecked. Although only a few people were physically injured by the blast, many people are being treated by doctors. The area surrounding Mount Sirius is being kept clear by the authorities in case of further activity.
