1 Why do students usually go to university?

Students usually go to university to improve their career prospects so that they can get good jobs and earn good salaries.

2 Do students get grants now?

No, they don’t. There are no grants now.

3 How long can most students concentrate?

According to a recent survey, the average length of time a student can concentrate in class is just ten minutes.

4 The survey shows students have two other problems. What are they?

One problem is that students have to work and, as a result, they are tired and stressed most of the time. They even miss up to five hours of class a week because of working. Another problem is new technology. Young people today usually only spend a short time looking at websites and they tend to read and write short texts. This may be the reason why they have short attention spans.

5 According to the survey, does school education help students after they leave school?

No, it doesn’t. School education fails to provide students with life skills and the ability to live on their own when they leave school.
