Ukraine is one of the largest countries in Eastern Europe. It covers an area of 603,700 (six hundred and three thousand, seven hundred) square kilometers. It's territory stretches for 1,316 km from the east to the west and 893 km from the north to the south. Ukraine borders on Russia, Belarus, Moldova, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary (Угорщина) and Romania. On the south it's washed by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. The two mountainous areas in Ukraine are the Carpethians and the Crimean Mountains, but they  are not very high. The main rivers are the Dnieper, the Dniester, the Bug and the Donets. The population of Ukraine is 47 million inhabitans. The new president is Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
