Winter Holidays.
Different countries have different holidays. Christmas is a happy holiday for all people in
Britain and in Russia.
The 25th of December is Christmas Day in Britain. English people are busy some weeks
before Christmas. They send greeting cards to their friends and relatives. They put a Christmas
Tree and decorate it with toys and coloured balls and lights.
On Christmas Eve (on the 24" of December) people put t
Their presents under the tree. Children put their stockings at their beds before they go to
bed. They think that Father Christmas comes at night with a big bag of presents and puts the
presents into the children's stockings.
On Christmas morning people open their presents and they are all happy with what they get. In
the afternoon they have Christmas dinner. They eat turkey with potatoes and green vegetables,
Then they have Christmas pudding or tea with Christmas cakes.
In Russia we celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January. And we like to celebrate New
Year's Day on the 31" of December. There is a usually a decorated New Year tree , a lot of tasty
things for New Year supper and lots of presents ,of course! We have parties at home or visit our
friends. We usually make wishes when the clock strikes twelve and wish everybody a happy
New Year.
English and American people often make New Year's resolutions - they are promises for
the New Year. But they don't always keep them.

Зимние каникулы.
Разные страны имеют свои праздники. Рождество это праздник для всех людей из Британии и России.
Рождество в Британии отмечается 25 декабря. В последнии недели перед Рождеством у людей очень много забот. Они отправляют поздравительные открытки своим друзьям и родственникам. Они ставят рождественскую елку и украшают ее игрушками, разноцветными шариками и гирляндами.
В ночь перед Рождеством люди кладут подарки под елку. Дети развешивают носки перед тем как пойти спать. Они думают что ночью приходит Санта Клаус с большим мешком подарков, и складывает их в носки, которые повесили дети.
Утром люди открывают свои подарки и удивляются им. Вечером у них Рождественский ужин. Они едят индейку с картошкой и овощи. Также они готовят пуддинг или пирог к чаю.
В России празднуют Рождество 7 января. Но еще мы празднуем Новый Год 31 декабря. Украшаем Новогоднюю елку, а также много разных вкусностей для ужина, и конечно же, много подарков!
Мы устраиваем дома застолье или навещаем своих друзей. Мы всегда загадываем желания, когда стрелки пробьют 12 часов, и желаем друг другу счасливого Нового года!
Англичане и Американцы часто дают обещания, которые выполнят в Новом году. Но не всегда сдерживают их.
