Все очень просто. Вместо существительного в ед. числе ставишь слово one, а вместо существительного во множ. числе — ones. Число существительных можно определить по контексту (см. подчеркнутые слова)

2 There are two boys in the band.  The tall one (=boy) plays the drums.

3 They sang two songs. Which one (=song = которая из двух) did you like best?

4 I've seen them in concert twice.  The last one was in the park last  summer.

5 I like all their songs but the earlier  ones (=songs) are great to dance to.
