1. The most popular tradition in Great Britain is to celebrate Christmas. There are many traditions and some of them are very old. There is, for example, the Marble Championship, Boat Race or Bonfire Night. It is also widely celebrated Halloween, a day on which many children dress up in unusual costumes.

2. Drinking tea with family and friends is a very important part of British culture. Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Assam, and English Breakfast are all popular choices of tea types. Brewing the tea involves boiling the water, using a teapot, and steeping the tea either in tea bags or the loose leaf form for the correct amount of time. When it comes to serving the tea, use the right type of cup, and add milk or sugar if your guests prefer. Learning how to make English tea correctly means that you will be able to host many successful afternoon teas!

3. Boxing Day, which is on the 26th of December, is a bank holiday in England. Another favourite holiday is a few days after the Boxing Day. New Year’s Eve arrives on the 31st of December. While almost everyone throughout the world celebrates the New Year Eve, people in England party throughout the night. On the 1st of January, New Year Day, the London Parade takes the streets. Other major winter holidays include Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday, which falls on different dates.

4. In many houses in Great Britain they have fire-places and though their bedrooms are awfully cold, the English people do not want to have central heating because they do not want to have changes.
