to me, independence means complete freedom. for example if i do not depend upon my family’s finances, i can live on my own. i am responsible for my actions and no one tells me what to do. independence may also mean safety, because being independent i do not expect being punished for anything. i can travel anywhere i want without asking for permissions. honestly, being independent and relying only upon myself is one of the most important aspects of my life.
