Are there lots of places to eat and drink in your town? What are they? Where did people in your country eat and drink hundreds of years ago?

There are lots of places one can dine nowadays. There are perhaps as many as a hundred different places to eat and drink in my town ("your town"). They range from cafes and fastfood places to fancy restaurants and diners. Things were not always like this, however. Hundreds of years back people could not go to the local restaurant to order a meal. People back then used to cook their own food, make their own bread, and eat only at home.
