The author was painting it during several years. Through centuries it is still one of the most famous paintings in the world. The painting was made on a period of Renaissance in Europe. An artist experimented with perspectives and a realistic style of painting. First time it was exhibited in the Louvre Museum in Paris in 1793. In 1911 the painting was stolen and returned just after two years. Today, the mastepiece is in Louvre.
