Времена Perfect характеризуются тем, что действие завершается к какому-либо определённому моменту. В нашем случае-к моменту в прошлом. В заданиях одно из предложений указывает на время (когда мы заплатили...,после того, как мы купили...и т.д.). Эта часть предложения будет во времени Past Simple. А вот вторая, которая указывает на то, что действие было сделано к нашму моменту (мы вошли в кинозал, когда заплатили (к моменту, когда заплатили).., мы поели после того, как купили (купили в какое-то время и поели)). Эта часть как раз во времени Past Perfect
