Now, as we are quickly becoming an information-dependent society, it is time to restate this right as the right to learn reading, writing and computing. It is well known that computers and their many applications as well as information systems are among the most significant technical achievements of our time. They bring with them both economic and social changes. "Computing" is a concept that embraces not only the old third R, arithmetics, but also a new idea - computer literacy.
Computer literacy is the ability to use computers and related technology efficiently from elementary use to programming and solving of advanced problems.
Computer literacy is a very important skill to possess in developed countries. Employers want their workers to have basic computer skills because their company becomes more dependent on computers. Many companies try to employ computers and information technologies to improve business efficiency.
