The 21st century is all about new technologies and data flow. Thus, people have to keep abreast of the times using more and more up–to–date technical equipment like the Internet, tablets, laptops, netbooks and, of course, smartphones. Today this is the most widespread kind of technology, which is well–known all over the world. It is obvious, that the majority of people can hardly imagine their life without them. While everyone has a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde, smartphones have their pros and cons.
To begin with advantages, first of, these devices are multifunctional. Users can not only call someone but also have the Internet access, shoot a film, take pics and many other things which are so necessary for our life to be highly socialized. People who are obsessed with news can always find the freshest information, from politics and economy to gardening and baking. In addition to pros, it is not out of place to mention, that smartphones are easy to operate, so even kids are capable of using ones. That helps parents not to be anxious and lose touch with their children.
Nonetheless, in spite of all advantages, this kind of modern technology has cons as well. For one thing, these phones make people addicted and users can even forget about primary needs like eating well and getting enough sleep. Moreover, there is a tendency to get accustomed to spending too much time on the Internet or sending messages. So, these people get a chance to get social phobia and have problems with communication in real life. To make things worse, we don't exactly know the way these phones affect our health. Some strange and dangerous diseases along with nervous breakdowns may be caused by using smartphones
