England is one of the most beautiful and developed countries in Europe, albeit in a remote archipelago. It's a country with an interesting history, political organization and rich cultural heritage, as far as it attracts tourists with storehouses of prehistoric monuments. It's also called the Foggy Albion because of the large amount of precipitation during the year. The capital of England is London, the same carrier of smog and rough road traffic. England is located in the United Kingdom between Wales in the west and Scotland in the North. It covers the central and 2/3 of the southern part of the island of Great Britain, including more than 100 smaller islands. Hilly or flat lowland terrain with several mountainous areas prevails in the northern and south-eastern parts of England.

There is no unique national day in Britain. It has several holidays that are mostly not celebrated, and others that are associated with countries that are part of the United Kingdom. The latter category includes St George's Day in England, St Andrew's Day in Scotland, St David's Day in Wales and St Patrick's Day in Northern Ireland. Conventionally celebrated on June 12, as well as the established birthday of the Queen, it takes place with patriotic marches, parades and performances.
St. George is indeed an international saint, and England is not the only country or region that considers him its patron saint. England shares St. George with Venice, Genoa, Portugal, Ethiopia and Catalonia as its patron saint, and many of these places hold their own festivals and ceremonies in his honour.

The British flag has a rectangular shape with proportions of 2:3. On the blue panel there are several crosses superimposed on each other. The basis of the drawing is a wide straight red cross with white edging. It's symmetrical and stretched to the full width and length of the flag. Behind the straight cross there are two more thinner oblique crosses. One of them is the cross of St. Andrew, also located symmetrically on the panel. Separately, as a symbol of Scotland, it is depicted on a blue background. The blue background of the Union Jack is darker than the blue shade of the Scottish flag, but historically comes from. A thin oblique red cross is superimposed on top of the Scottish cross. This is the symbol of Ireland - the cross of St. Patrick. The distinctive feature on the flag is asymmetry. Foreigners rarely pay attention to this feature. The Union Jack drawing consists of symbols of three countries that make up the United Kingdom: England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

With the flower, everything is also united, for the benefit of everyone. This is a Tudor rose, composed of the coats of arms of the two clans of York and Lancaster after the end of their war in 1487.

Specifically, England has a national animal – the Lion, a symbol of volition, courage, coolness, prudence and greatness. Although the coat of arms is mixed with a unicorn, another representative of another Kingdom.

Turning to industry, I would like to mention large oil fields right away, since England is part of Great Britain, and it, in turn, is washed by seas and oceans. On the one hand, England is characterized by the rapid growth of modern industries using advanced technology (electronics, general and precision engineering, chemical industry), on the other - the lag of old industries (coal mining, cotton and wool industry, shipbuilding, ferrous metallurgy).

As for the leisure of the British, many people want to present a picture of eternal golf, badminton, horse racing and lying in Hyde Park. This is partly true and many allow themselves these activities. But it is worth noting a number of other pastimes, such as listening to the radio, reading, gardening, knitting, going to the cinema and there are very popular takeaway food or open eateries. The most common leisure activity in the UK is watching television. The average viewing time is 25 hours per person per week.
