England is one of the most beautiful and developed countries in Europe, albeit in a remote archipelago. It's a country with an interesting history, political organization and rich cultural heritage, as far as it attracts tourists with storehouses of prehistoric monuments. England is located in the United Kingdom between Wales in the west and Scotland in the North. It covers the central and 2/3 of the southern part of the island of Great Britain, including more than 100 smaller islands. Hilly or flat lowland terrain with several mountainous areas prevails in the northern and south-eastern parts of England.

There is no unique national day in Britain. It has several holidays that are mostly not celebrated, and others that are associated with countries that are part of the United Kingdom. The latter category includes St George's Day in England, St Andrew's Day in Scotland, St David's Day in Wales and St Patrick's Day in Northern Ireland. Conventionally celebrated on June 12, as well as the established birthday of the Queen, it takes place with patriotic marches, parades and performances.
