Это предложение в  Past Simple!:  It  -подлежащее,  was в этом предложении - основной глагол. Слово boiling- не глагол здесь, а определение к слову день. Спроси в учителя завтра. Другое предложение написала, если не веришь.

Has this man never heard of a shower? -вопросительное в тексте. This man has never heard of a shower- отрицат. This man has heard of a shower.- повествоват.
