Nowadays, some people think that you cannot do without friends. Indeed, is it possible to live without your friends’ support? I believe that this is a very important question, and in this essay, I am going to give you my opinion on the topic.

On the one hand, it is totally possible to live without any friends. First, having no friends does not mean having no family, which means that you still have someone to trust and care about you. Second, there are many examples of lonely people in history and literature. The first thing that comes to mind is Robinson Crusoe, who spent many years being completely alone on a remote desert island, and we know that the book is based on a true story.

However, on the other hand, not having any friends means being lonely and unhappy. Robinson Crusoe was much happier after he had met Friday, and the musketeers might have died a lot of times if they did not have each other. Also, having family does not always mean having support as some families can be dysfunctional. Besides, relatives often have different interests and opinions while it is hard to imagine friends who do not have anything in common and do not care about each other at all.
