Чтобы сделать indirect speech при том, что слова автора в прошедшем времени (he said/he told и т.п.), нужно слова прямой речи поставить в более прошедшее время. То есть из present simple делаем past simple; из past simple делаем past perfect; из present continuous  делаем past continuous. will меняем на would
