Chu is a river in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. One of the largest rivers in Central Asia. Glacier-snow nutrition; significant role of underground flow. in the lowlands, it dries up at the end of July and at the beginning of August, and the flow resumes in December. There is ice in the upper reaches from November to April. Along the river is the largest lake of Kyrgyzstan - Issyk-Kul.
