"Wednesday" is a new series about a teenage girl named Wednesday Adams who has grown up and is now 16 years old. Despite being intelligent and emotionless, Wednesday tends to solve problems through violence. After another altercation at school where Wednesday avenges her brother from bullies, her parents decide to send her to Nevermore, a boarding school for special teenagers. Nevermore is a school for outcasts, including werewolves, vampires, mermaids, and other "monsters." It was at this school that Mortisha and Gomez, two of Wednesday's classmates, first met, became friends, and fell in love.
Wednesday is unhappy about being sent to Nevermore and thinks that her parents just want to get rid of her. She doesn't like the school and plans to escape. However, strange creatures start appearing in the area, killing innocent people and brutally attacking one of Wednesday's classmates in front of her. Wednesday is also almost killed a couple of times and starts having strange visions. Overall, so many events have caught Wednesday's dark and troubled attention that she decides to stay and investigate.
