• Важен сам факт создания электронных книг, т.е. когда те появились, а не то, кто их изобрел.

• "For the first time, people's voices could be sent over long distances"
• Неопределенно-личное сказуемое, т.е. подлежащее не является конкретным.

• "Although cinema had been invented in 1895, ..."
• Аналогично первому предложению — важен факт изобретения кинематографа, а не то, кто его изобрел.
