William Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. He was educated at Stratford Grammar School and developed an early interest in theater and literature. He went on to work as an actor in the Globe Theater, London and as a dramatist. In 1582, he married Anne Hathaway and had three children. He is renowned for his many works published in The First Folio in 1623, including tragedies, historical dramas, sonnets and comedies. He passed away on his birthday, 23 April 1616, leaving behind a legacy of incredible plays, poems and sonnets.
