Andriy Shevchenko was born on September 29, 1976 in the city of Dvorichna, which at that time belonged to the USSR. He started playing football in the youth team of the local club "Desna". In 1994, Andriy moved to Dynamo Kyiv, where he became one of the best strikers in the club's history. In 1999, he moved to the Italian club "Milan", where he became one of the best football players in the world. As part of Milan, he won two European championship titles, one Italian championship title and was named the best player in the world in 2004. In 2006, Andriy played for the Ukrainian national team at the World Cup, where his goals helped the team reach the quarterfinals of the tournament. In 2009, Andriy returned to Dynamo, where he ended his career in 2012. Andriy Shevchenko scored a total of 377 goals in official matches during his career and became one of the best football players in the history of Ukraine.
