Tugai red deer
Where does the tugai red deer live in Kazakhstan? This subspecies is the only one among relatives that lives in the desert zone. Until the end of the 19th century, tugai deer were often found along the Syrdarya River. In the first half of the 20th century, representatives of the species became rare guests on the territory of Kazakhstan. Animals managed to acclimatize again in the state hunting farm Karachingil in 1981.
The height of these slender graceful animals is about 120 cm, weight reaches 200 kg. Males have branched horns up to 110 cm long with five processes. The color of the deer is light ash with a brownish-yellow-gray tint.

Где в Казахстане обитает тугайный благородный олень? Этот подвид — единственный среди сородичей, обитающий в пустынной зоне. До конца XIX века тугайные олени часто встречались вдоль реки Сырдарьи. В первой половине XX века представители вида стали редкими гостями на территории Казахстана. Животных удалось вновь акклиматизировать в госохотхозяйстве Карачингиль в 1981 году.
Высота этих стройных грациозных животных около 120 см, вес достигает 200 кг. У самцов есть ветвистые рога длиной до 110 см с пятью отростками. Окрас оленей светло-пепельный с коричневато-желто-серым оттенком.
