I chose to write a biography on Hannah Cockroft because she is a remarkable Paralympic athlete who has achieved impressive accomplishments throughout her career.
Hannah Cockroft was born on July 30th, 1992, in Halifax, England. Despite being born with cerebral palsy and being wheelchair-bound, Cockroft showed a strong-willed spirit and a natural talent for athletics from a young age. At the age of 15, she took part in her first wheelchair racing competition and won a gold medal, setting a new European record in the process.
Cockroft continued to excel in her athletics career and made her Paralympic debut in London 2012. She dominated the competition, winning two gold medals and breaking two world records. Since then, Cockroft has won numerous world championships and Paralympic medals, breaking her own records along the way.
Off the track, Cockroft is an ambassador for a number of disability charities and works to promote inclusivity and accessibility for disabled individuals. In 2013, she was awarded an MBE in recognition of her services to athletics and charity work.
