There is a lot of water on our planet, and at the same time it is not enough. This is because there is very little potable water on Earth. The reserves of clean water are decreasing every day due to its irrational consumption and pollution.

For example, Baikal is the deepest freshwater lake on Earth. This lake is very beautiful, but now it is in great danger because of the factories located near it. In some places, the water in the lake is so dirty that it can destroy animals and plants both in Baikal itself and in places adjacent to it.

                 The main source of water pollution is man.

Factories often dump their waste directly into rivers and lakes. These wastes are often toxic. Although the pollutants may flow away, they never go away, and water quality deteriorates significantly.

Air pollution also negatively affects water quality. Air pollutants can accumulate in land and water, sometimes at great distances from their original sources.

Pollution of the world's oceans is the result of careless treatment of nature, a sign of an ecological crisis. If people want to survive, they must do everything possible to solve the problems of environmental pollution.
