Muhamedzhan Tynyshpaev
He is a Kazakh engineer, activist, and intellectual. He researched and designed the railways of Russian Central Asia, and also took an active part in the young political newspapers of the region. Thanks to his activities, he became known as a political activist, ethnographer and historian. Also a cinematographer and film director. He did a lot for the people: under his leadership, brick houses and office buildings were erected, the Sarkyram canal was designed and built to provide Kzyl-Orda with drinking water. Mukhamedzhan combined professional activity with social work. He could not help but see the sad results of the colonization of the Kazakhs. He continued to build roads and bridges: a railway bridge made of metal structures across the Amu Darya; Semirechensk road from Pishpek to Arys; railway line from Arys to Aulie-Ata.
