People are always telling me to use my common sense. It's so annoying!

What does that even mean?

A dictionary definition says : the ability to behave in a sensible way and make practical decisions. OK, so it's common sense to check for traffic when you cross the road.

I get that. But what about when it comes to studying? We've been working on a design project at school for the last few weeks. It isn't going too well at the moment, so I asked my dad for help. All he said was, "Just use your common sense.' I've been trying to work out how that's helpful ever since. Great advice, Dad, thanks!

Has anyone ever said that to you? What do you think common sense means? How has it helped with your schoolwork up to now?
