Last year, I went to Tokyo on a business trip and decided to take a tour of the city. I admired impressive skyscrapers, visited ancient temples and wandered through gardens. I had been admiring the city for several hours when I bumped into an old school friend who now works in Tokyo. My friend told me that I was very lucky to be in Tokyo during that week in spring because the Japanese were celebrating the Cherry Blossom Festival. She had gone to the Imperial Palace gardens to admire the blossoms, so she asked me to go along. When we arrived, we saw that many people had already gathered there to celebrate the event. As she had brought a picnic lunch, we sat down on the grass to eat. We watched as the small round flowers were dropping from the trees onto the ground, surrounding us in a carpet of pink. Later, we went for a walk around the Imperial Palace. It was a truly unforgettable day.
