Health of the Ukrainian Nation
​Statistics shows that during the last ten years the level of health of our nation was getting worse. The number of diseases of skin, circulation and digestion is increasing. As a rule these disorders are caused by psychological stresses and environment situation. The number of people who have tuberculosis, chronic bronchitis and asthma is increasing too, as the result of dangerous situation of our environment
Despite all the efforts Ukraine is in critical epidemiological situation.
There’s one more threatening fact. In 1991 the population of our country began to decrease. Mortality is higher than birth-rate only during the war time. However in our country it happens in peaceful time. According to the public opinion poll, nowadays one third of young couples don’t want to have children, because they are afraid of negative effects of catastrophe on Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
This catastrophe has numerous fatal consequences. The newborn children more often have abnormalities. There are more complications during the period of pregnancy. The number of oncologic diseases and mortality is increasing. What is really threatening, negative influence of radiation will last for many years more. People live less than 15 years ago. Statistics shows that high level of mortality is caused by disorders of circulation, different types of cancer, poisoning, various injuries and accidents.
The situation is critical, that’s why every citizen of our country should work to make Ukrainian nation healthier. We should do our best for the sake of future generations.
