The Lærdal Tunnel (Norwegian: Lærdalstunnelen) is the world's longest road tunnel with a length of 24.5 km, connecting the municipalities of Lærdal and Eurlann in the Norwegian fylke Sogn og Fjurane in the western part of Norway. The tunnel is located approximately 175-200 km northeast of Bergen. The tunnel, which runs along European Route E16 through Oslo and Bergen, allows for an unhindered flow of traffic while preserving the alpine environment of the region.
