Dialogue 1:

A: Can you believe the weather today? It's so nasty!

B: I know, right? The wind is blowing so strong and there are low clouds everywhere.

A: I hope it doesn't rain hard, I forgot my umbrella.

B: You better hurry along the streets then, or you'll get wet for sure. Did you see those passers-by, everyone carrying an umbrella?

A: Oh no, I didn't notice. I guess I'll have to put up with getting wet then.

Dialogue 2:

A: Do you know that September 23 is the shortest day of the year?

B: Really? I thought it was December 22.

A: Well, December 22 is the shortest day, but September 23 has the longest night.

B: Ah, I see. So as long as the night is on September 23, December 22 has the shortest night of the year.

A: Exactly!

Dialogue 3:

A: The weather forecast for today is not looking good.

B: What did they say?

A: They said it's going to rain hard and there will be strong winds.

B: Oh no! I need to keep the rain out, I don't want to be caught in the rain again like last time.

A: Yeah, deep in autumn, the weather can be really dull. Make sure to carry an umbrella with you.

Dialogue 4:

A: Did you know that June 22 is the longest day of the year?

B: Yes, I love it! The days are so long and sunny.

A: But December 22 is the opposite, the shortest day. It gets dark so early.

B: That's true. I can't wait for March 21 when the days start getting longer again.

A: Me too, I miss the sunlight.
