b) Mother: Oh no, let me take your temperature. It's normal, and your throat looks fine.

a) Boy: But my stomach also hurts and I feel giddy, I think I'm really sick.

b) Mother: Nice try, young man. You're not getting out of going to school that easily.

a) Boy: But Mom...

b) Mother: No buts, off you go.

2. At the chemist’s:

a) Me: Hi, my friend is unwell, and I need some medicine for him.

b) Chemist: What seems to be the trouble?

a) Me: He's got a bad cough and a fever. What do you recommend?

b) Chemist: Here are some pills, a powder for his cough, and a mixture for his fever. Make sure he takes them as directed.

a) Me: Thank you. How and when should he take these medicines?

b) Chemist: The pills should be taken after meals, the powder when his cough is severe, and the mixture every 6 hours. Make sure he rests and drinks plenty of fluids.
