B: It says in the paper that if the driver (telephone) the signalman to let himknow, the signalman (stop) the train until the lorry had been moved. Thenthe accident (not happen) at all.
A: If I (be) the lorry-driver I (not try) to cross at that levelcrossing anyway. I (drive) to Gloucester and (cross) therailway by the bridge.
B: Well, there's nothing we can do about it now. But those ten people (not die) if the lorry driver (be) more careful.

А. Ты слышал об крушении поезда на прошлой недели?
В. Да, ужасно, не так ли? Десять людей убиты! Они говорят, что если бы ж/д оператор быстрее отреагировал, поезд был бы остановлен, прежде чем он достиг пересечения. (reactеd, stoped) 
А. Хорошо, это была вина водителя грузовика, в конце концов.Там не был бы несчастный случай , если бы он не сломался на переезде.  (not was, not broke down)    
В. В газетах говорят , что если бы водитель позвонил связисту, чтобы дать ему знать, связист остановил бы поезд  до тех пор, пока грузовик не двинулся. И потом аварии бы не произошло совсем.  (telephoned,not happened ) 
A.Если бы я был водителем я бы не пытался пересечь на этом уровне пересечения в любом случае. Я бы отправился в Глостер и пересек железнодорожный мост.(If I was the lorry-driver I not tryed to cross at that level crossing anyway. I drove to Gloucester and crossed the railway by the bridge. )
В. Ну, мы тут ничего не можем поделать сейчас. Но эти десять человек не умерли бы , если бы  водитель грузовика был  осторожнее.
