Kemerovo region ( Kuzbass ) - the subject of the Russian Federation , is a part of the Siberian Federal District .
Kemerovo Region was established January 26, 1943 decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR release of the Novosibirsk region.
Area area - 95,725 square kilometers ; on this indicator region occupies 34th place in the country.
The population is 2,734,075 people. ( 2014 ) , population density - 28.56 pers. / Km² ( 2014 ) . Most of the population lives in urban areas , there are large areas with low population density . Share of urban population : 85.58 % ( 2,339,804 ) .
