The Great Patriotic War took place in Russia in June,1941.
Russia is situated both in Asia and Western Europe.
Germany attacked our country, on the 22 of June.
This war ended in May,1945.
Russia defeated Germany.
People who were taken prisoners in this war, were severely tortured,
and most of them eventually died.
The conflict was violent. It was a political and an ethnic one.
I think that the conflict could not be prevented, as the Nazis had killed a huge number of innocent people and did not intend to stop.
