1 The explorers were tired and weak, they needed help, rest, food and water so they all were looking forward to returning to Cooper`s Creek cos their supplies should had arrived there by that time and their colleagues would be waiting for them there too
2 Gray`s death meant for the other explorers that they had a little more food to share and could hold on longer
3 At Cooper`s Creek the author of the diary hoped to get  some rest, food and water and change his clothes. King needed rest . They all hoped to find help there to survive
4 They found that there was no sign of anyone or any of their supplies - Cooper`s Creek was deserted and empty
5 I think King lost hope of saving and lost his mind because of despair
6 The author of this diary is John McDouall Stuart
