Khabib Nurmagomedov
Khabib Nurmagomedov is a world-famous Russian mixed martial artist and one of the most respected athletes in combat sports.
He is best known for the longest unbeaten record of 29 wins in mixed martial arts. Khabib was the longest-reigning Ultimate Fight Championship Lightweight Champion — he held the title from April 2018 to March 2021. People sometimes call him 'The Eagle'.
Khabib Nurmagomedov was born on the 20th of September in 1988 at the Kirovaul village in Kizilyurtovsky District, Russia. He started training in wrestling when he was 12 and three years later he also began classes in judo. When Khabib was 17, his father began training him in combat sambo. In September 2008, Khabib Nurmagomedov made his debut in MMA and in the next few years he competed in 16 fights, of which he won every match.
During his martial arts career Khabib won a lot of awards and titles in numerous fields like mixed martial arts, sambo, grappling and pankration. His most famous fights that attracted the world's attention were against Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. The last fight of his career was in October 2020, at UFC 254, in which defeated Justin Gaethje. After this fight he retired form the sport.
Khabib speaks Avar, Russian, English, Turkish, and Arabic. He got married in 2013 and has three children. He is the most-followed Russian on Instagram, with more than 30 million followers.
