The man told him to wake up and go to the abandoned house near where he was sleeping. He told him to dig under the floor and he would find a magic purse. He said that every time he opened and closed the purse, a gold coin would appear inside. The man warned him, though, that only, a contended man could have an eternal feast.

As he dug, he told himself that if he found one gold coin, he would buy himself a big meal, if he found two gold coins, he would buy food for his whole family and if he found three gold coind, he would buy his wife a new dress.
