The state symbols of the DNR are regulated by the constitution and current legislation.

The DNR flag is a rectangular banner with a ratio of 3: 2, divided into three equal horizontal stripes: the upper - black, middle - blue and lower - red. In the center of the flag, on all its stripes, is the coat of arms of the DNR: a silver double-headed eagle, on the chest of an eagle in a red shield - Archangel Michael in silver weapons and black drag. At the top of the banner is the inscription "DONETSK PEOPLE'S", below - "REPUBLIC". From February 27, 2018, the DNR flag is a black-blue-red tricolor without additional inscriptions and coat of arms.
